Joyce L. Cluen

Joyce L. Cluen passed away suddenly on September 15, 2025, in Carmel, NY. She was born on May 4, 1962, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Donald and Adrienne (Mills) Cluen.

Joyce is survived by her devoted daughter, Kelly, and her partner, David Warnez; her sisters, Janice Cluen and Karen McLaughlin and her husband, Robert; her niece, Krystle; and her nephew, Robert. She was predeceased by her dearly loved son, Ryan McKeown, who passed away in 2019.

Joyce dedicated many years as an office assistant at Northern Westchester Irrigation in Mahopac, NY. Prior to that, she spent many years working in salons as a hairdresser and hairdresser's assistant, where she made lasting friendships and connections.

Joyce's love of animals was a constant in her life. She was especially delighted in caring for her daughter's dog, Dolly-affectionately known as her "granddog"-a title she used with both pride and humor. At home, she also treasured the steady companionship of her cat, Scully.

Music was also one of Joyce's greatest loves. The Rolling Stones were lifelong favorites, she also cherished the songs of Cat Stevens, Van Morrison and many more, their timeless melodies becoming a soundtrack to a life well lived.

Joyce will be remembered for her sharp sense of humor, unwavering loyalty to her friends, and deep passion for the things she loved. She always cherished time spent with her dear friends Patti and Sue-whether traveling, shopping, or simply enjoying each other's company. She also found peace and joy in nature, and loved traveling to places where she could explore and experience the world around her.

Joyce L. Cluen's memory will be cherished and kept alive by the many hearts she touched. Her spirit will be deeply missed, but the echoes of her will resonate for years to come.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a Memorial Gathering on Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Cargain Funeral Home, 10 Fowler Avenue, Carmel, NY.

During the Gathering, a Celebration of Life to honor Joyce will commence at 4:00 p.m. at Cargain.

Private cremation has already taken place.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked you consider making a donation in Joyce's memory to either the Putnam County S.P.C.A. or the Putnam Humane Society.
