Mrs. Joyce Crider Cole, age 82 of Powder Springs, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2025. She was born September 2, 1943, in Powder Springs, daughter of the late Leroy Crider and the late Pearl Evans Crider.
Known as Joycee to those who loved her well, she was a highly successful and respected banker for 45 years, who beyond her graceful appearance had a love for the Lord, the church, her family, and all those around her. Her banking career included C&S Bank, GA State Bank and Bank of North Georgia. She retired from Citizens & Merchants Bank as vice president of operations. She was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Powder Springs, where she loved to sing in the church choir.
She enjoyed shopping, especially for new clothes. She loved traveling to the beach, but her favorite place was Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Known as "Nana" to family or Joycee, her love for family was everything, where her nieces and nephews were like her own children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Tommy (Melba) Crider, Roy Crider and Russell (Diann) Crider.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Cole, the love of her life and rock of 62 years; daughter Amber (Shea) Morris; granddaughter, Mattie (Will) Mathis; sister, Linda Crider; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Crider and JoAnn Cole; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in an expansive family that she loved dearly.
The family will receive friends at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Powder Springs on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 12 noon until 2:00pm. A funeral service will follow at the church at 2:00pm with Rev. Lee Lawrence and Rev. Josh Smith officiating. Interment service will follow in the church cemetery with Randy Crider, Chuck Crider, Steve Crider, Rick Crider, Terry Hogue, Don Cole, Eddie Henley and Johnny Hunter serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 2433 Brownsville Rd., Powder Springs, GA 30127, in memory of Mrs. Cole.
