Joyce Core, 92, of Rushsylvania, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Logan Acres Care Center. She was born in Rushsylvania, Ohio on February 16, 1933, to the late Estle and Mildred (Liston) Hemminger.
On June 26, 1954, she married Edward Knight Core, Jr. and he preceded her in death on August 9, 1999. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Hemminger.
She is survived by her children: Elizabeth Core of Rushsylvania and Anthony (Heather) Core of Dublin; grandchildren: Jaclyn, Matthew, and Amber; sister, Carol Gerlach; sister-in-law, Nancy Wisse; and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Bellefontaine where she served as an Elder for many years. She also belonged to the Logan Piecemakers Quilt Guild, Logan County Art Club, Ohio Farm Bureau, Ohio State Alumni Association, Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Rushcreek Music Club, Athenian Club, and a past member of the Logan County Library Board.
For many decades, Joyce was a home economics teacher at Benjamin Logan Local Schools. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting and traveling. Some of her most special trips were making memories with her family and friends.
Pastor Greg Menssen will officiate a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the Eichholtz & Daring Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be two hours prior from 11:00 until the time of the service. Burial will follow the service in Harper Cemetery.
