Born November 16, 1940, she was a native of Greenville County, and daughter of the late Harley Melvin Watson and Gladys Mildred Sandlin Watson. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Dillard Hasten Derrick. Joyce was a woman of impeccable character and enjoyed a good and godly reputation throughout the Mount Lebanon, Blue Ridge, and greater Greer communities. She was a member of Praise Cathedral.
Surviving are two brothers, Ronald "Red" Watson (Judy) and Marion Watson (Gail); one sister, Wilma Jean Allen.
She was also predeceased by two brothers, Larry M. Watson and Donald Watson.
Per her request, a simple cryptside service will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Praise Cathedral Church of God Building Fund, PO Box 287, Greer, SC 29652.
