Mrs. Joyce Ann Dover, age 67, of Scott City, Mo., formerly of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away on November 23, 2023, at Capital Region Medical Center with her husband by her side.
She was born on June 9, 1956, the daughter of Anthony James (A.J.) and Ada Lee (Clardy) Eveler. Joyce was united in marriage to Eldon R. Dover on July 5, 1988, in Jefferson City, who survives at the home.
Joyce graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1974 and later attended Nichols Career Center and earned her LPN degree in 1979. She also attended Southeast Missouri State University where she took classes in social work. Her nursing career at St. Mary's Hospital became a fulfilling calling, driven by her genuine care for others.
Active in various organizations, Joyce was a member of the Missouri Practical Nursing Association and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Scott City, Mo.
Among her many passions, Joyce cherished crafts, quality time with friends and family, and her spiritual connection with God. Renowned for her German country cooking, she held dear the growth of her family and the joys of having children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her loving husband, Eldon; four children, Jeffrey Walsh of Sedalia, Mo., Jennifer (Walsh) Venable of St. Genivieve, Mo., Eric Dover and Aaron Dover both of Columbia, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Gracie McClenithan, Elijah Venable, Elijah and Christopher Dover and Nathan, Zachary, and Alex Walsh; two brothers, William "Mike" Eveler and Roger Eveler both of Jefferson City, Mo.; numerous other loving relatives and a host of friends.
She was preceded by her parents.
Joyce made the decision to participate in the Gift of Body Program through the University of Missouri in Columbia. Her choice to donate her body will further research and education in various capacities. She also donated her eyes to Saving Sight.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Freeman Mortuary, 915 Madison St, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
