Joyce Moulton Drake, age 83, of Jakin, GA, passed away Monday, Sept. 8, 2025, at Southeast Health in Dothan, AL.
Funeral services for Ms. Drake will be held on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Flat Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Cory Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Jacob Poe, Dalton Gowan, Will Kirkland, Austin Frith, Dustin Frith, and Mark Moulton serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class of Flat Creek Baptist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the church.
Ms. Drake was born in Seminole County, GA on Nov. 8, 1941, to T.J. "Junior" Moulton and Ruby Edwards Moulton. She was a graduate of Miller County High School and a homemaker. Ms. Drake was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church and loved her church family dearly. She very much loved and enjoyed just being at home; however, she did enjoy fishing and riding her golf cart. Ms. Drake enjoyed cooking, especially for her family. Her family was very important to her, and she loved spending time with them. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the center of her heart.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Paul Drake of Donalsonville, GA, Sheila Drake of Jakin, GA, Michelle Kirkland and husband Mark of Columbia, AL, and Angie Frith and husband David of Jakin, GA; her best friend and companion of 17 years, Johnny Creel of Jakin, GA; her brother, Bobby Moulton of Ashford, AL, as well as her sister, Judy Dismuke and husband Bill of Donalsonville, GA. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jennifer Lee and husband Marcus, Travis Drake, Kelley Poe and husband Jacob, Dalton Gowan and wife Mahaylee, Will Kirkland, Luci Kirkland, Lane Kirkland, Austin Frith, and Dustin Frith, as well as her great grandchildren, Christopher James “C.J.” Lee, Kaden Poe, and Carson Poe. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Ms. Drake was preceded in death by her parents, Tom Junior Moulton and Ruby Edwards Moulton, as well as her siblings, Rudolph Moulton, Janice Simon, and Jerry Moulton.
