Lillie Mae Drake

A Bloomfield resident, Mrs. Lillie Mae Drake, age 87, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. Lillie was born July 8, 1938, in Chaplin to the late Jim and Mary Jordan Duncan. She was a homemaker, enjoyed playing farkle and making candy, especially peanut brittle. Lillie Mae who was also known as "Gran" was more than her title; she was a God fearing who not only loved her family but was a grandma to many families. Her door was always open; she was love, light and a soulful song. Lillie was a member of the Bloomfield Senior Citizens Group. She was also a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Albert Drake, six sisters, Rebecca Mason, Sarah Willis Duncan, Susie Mudd, Frances Stone, Carrie Bishop, Irene Duncan, and one brother, Jim Duncan, Jr. Lillie is survived by two sons; William "Buster" Drake and Terry (Lysa) Drake, both of Bardstown, six grandchildren, Natasha Drake, Raven (Phil Cross) Drake, T.C (Kayla) Drake, Samantha Drake, Cierra (Tom Watson) Drake, Aliyah (Steve Craven) Drake, eight great grandchildren, Cam Cade, Carter Drake, Kingston Drake Davis, Kylo Craven, Rowdy Watson, Ryann and Levi Cross, Knox Martin due in January, and a special nephew John "J.J." James who was like a son. Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie May Drake will be 1:00pm, Monday, December 8, 2025, at the Campbell Chapel A.M.E Zion Church, Bro. Butch Maddox officiating. Interment will be in Bloomfield Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday at the church from 11:00am until the time of service. The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield has been entrusted with arrangements.
