Joyce Dupell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Michaud Funeral Home & Crematorium - Wilton on Dec. 5, 2025.
Joyce Diane Dupell (Stevens), 77, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her immediate family and her animals on Monday December 1st, 2025. She was born on January 27th, 1948, in the town of Pinardville-Goffstown, New Hampshire, to parents Sherman E. Stevens and Helen M. Stevens.
She was a long-term resident of Amherst, NH. She and her husband James resided in the home her father (Sherman) built.
Joyce dedicated her career to caring for others in the medical field. She attended nursing school, and worked as a CNA in the home health care field for several years, until she retired. She married James R. Dupell on May 7th, 1977, and had celebrated 48 years of marriage. Some of her favorite pastimes included going to yard sales, flea markets, car shows, thrift shopping, Pow Wows, and taking drives with her husband to enjoy the views of the countryside. One of the places she liked to visit most were the white mountains in New Hampshire. Some of her favorite music included artist Celine Dion, as well as country and gospel music. Her faith was very important to her. Some of her favorite flowers included carnations, lilies, and lilacs. She was also an avid lover of animals and had owned and cared for many different animals in her lifetime. These included: Dogs, cats, goats, horses, and chickens. Her favorite seasons were spring and fall, but she was not a fan of the winter, as she never liked the cold.
She is survived by her husband James R. Dupell of Amherst, NH; Daughters Leah A. Shute and Jamie J. Dupell; Granddaughters Kari Aresnault, Kati Bower, Elizabeth Roby, Abigail Roby; and 8 great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Family and friends are warmly welcomed to attend calling hours at the Michaud Funeral Home, 32 Maple St Wilton, NH on Saturday December 6, 2025, from 4pm-6pm. A burial will be held in the Spring of 2026 at the Martins Cemetery in Hooksett, NH. The date will be set at a later point in time.
