Joyce Ann Fox, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on June 8, 2025, at the age of 66. She passed peacefully, surrounded by love, and we are comforted knowing she is now resting in perfect peace, reunited with the family she missed so deeply.
Born on March 27, 1959, Joyce radiated strength, warmth, and a deep, unwavering love that touched every life she encountered. As the proud mother of five and grandmother of six, her greatest joy came from her family. Whether she was gathered around the table sharing a homemade meal, chatting with her children late into the night, or sneaking treats to her grandbabies, Joyce made everyone feel seen, known, and deeply loved.
For more than 20 years, Joyce poured that same heart into her work, where she found purpose, pride, and lasting friendships. She approached every task with diligence and joy, and the people she worked with were more than colleagues-they became an extension of her family.
Joyce was the last of her immediate family to pass, preceded in death by her parents-Father Gabriel Hernandez and Mother Baudilia Cardona Gutierrez-her beloved Stepfather Amador Gutierrez, and her cherished brother Richard Hernandez. We take comfort in knowing she is now joyfully reunited with them in heaven, whole and free, and watching over us with that same fierce, gentle spirit we all knew and loved.
She is survived by her children-Erica Lopez (Daniel Lopez), Elyse Bernal, Nadine Raggio, Abigail Barnes (Austin Barnes), and Joel Fox (Haley Fox)-and her adored grandchildren: Daniel-Anthony, Elyana, Xan, Ezekiel, Otho, and Orlin. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Esther Hernandez, who was more like a true sister and shared a lifelong bond of love, loyalty, and laughter with Joyce. Alongside Esther, her nephews Richard (Ricky) Hernandez Jr., Gabriel Hernandez, and Jonathan Hernandez hold tightly to the countless memories they created-stories both heartwarming and hilarious that will be told and retold for years to come. She also leaves behind several loving cousins who were like brothers and sisters to her.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on June 30, 2025, at Sterling-White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby Lynchburg Rd,
Highlands, TX 77562. Visitation: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. | Celebration of Life: 1 p.m.
In honor of Joyce's fun-loving spirit and Texas roots, guests are lovingly encouraged to wear their cowboy boots-just as she would have wanted.
To honor Joyce's memory, we ask that you make time for your loved ones, treasure every moment, and don't let fear or delay get in the way of taking care of yourself. Joyce would want her story to serve as a gentle reminder to love deeply, live fully, and look after one another-just as she always did.
