Joyce Ann "Jody" Teegarden Freeman, 75, of California, KY, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. She was born on June 9, 1949, to the late Shelby and Dorothy Mae Baldridge Teegarden.
Joyce was a professional photographer, and a talented artist of canvas oil paintings. She was featured in an art display at the Newport Gallery, which she was very proud of. Joyce loved being outdoors, and enjoyed deer hunting, kayaking, and taking care of her flowers. She was a fan of Elvis' music, loved to sew and roller skate. There wasn't much she couldn't do once she set her mind to it.
River Camp was her piece of heaven here on earth. She loved spending time there, watching the sun rise and the eagles fly, while entertaining her kids and grandkids. Joyce will be remembered as funny, creative, and brash, with a soulful imagination. She was a beautiful person to all who truly knew her.
Surviving her passing is her husband of 54 years Walt Freeman; children Carrie (Scott) Ackerson and Kevin (Billie) Freeman; her grandchildren Chase (Courtney) Ackerson, Colten (Brooklyn) Ackerson, Cierra Ackerson, Brittany (Ryan) Eisner; Great-Grandchildren Laitlyn, Harlee and Naomi
Joyce was preceded in death by her brother Robert Teegarden and her granddaughter Sara Hall.
A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.

I have know Joyce since our children were little kids. Walt and Gerald would hang out together so Joyce and I started hunting and fishing with them. We were big Elvis Fans, and I remember making her an Elvis Book. All the woman with Elvis in the book had Joyce's face. Going to Jolly park with her, the photos we shared, the four wheeler rides in the woods and everything else we did was a blast. I really miss not talking to her over the years and my heart is broken and will miss her greatly.
