Joyce Galvin

FITCHBURG - Joyce (Lang) Galvin, age 86, passed away on May 31, 2023, at the Agrace HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. She was born in Chicago, Ill., on September 22, 1936, to the late Otto and Elizabeth (Roeder) Lang. She was the eighth of nine children.
She met Raymond Galvin at a local Ice Cream Shoppe, where Joyce worked and on September 24, 1960, they were married. They traveled a lot as a family and were able to explore the U.S. Ray and Joyce were together for 52 years before the loss of Ray in 2013.
Joyce had a love for history, traveling, music, and early on, Joyce used to teach and play the accordion.
Joyce is survived by her children: daughter, Catherine (David) Smyth, daughter, Teresa (Roger) Galvin, daughter, Kristina (Todd) Grauvogl, and son, Jonathon Galvin; grandchildren, Eamon, Aidan, Isabella and Teagan; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her parents; and siblings, Marcella, Lorraine, Jean, Elaine, Grace, Donald, Elizabeth, and Warren.
No services will be held at this time, a small family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
