Joyce L. Germano

Louisville: The family of Joyce L. Germano, age 91, are sadden to announce her passing on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Friends and family may be received on Sunday, January 18, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the Church of the Sacred Heart. Burial will be held in St. Lawrence Cemetery at the convenience of the family in the spring.

Born on June 27, 1934, in Massena to Leslie and Margaret (Adams) LeGrow. She graduated from Massena High School, where she was a member of the Majorettes.

Joyce married Samuel Germano on September 5, 1959. He predeceased her in 1986. She was a Laboratory Technician for 20 years at Massena Memorial Hospital. Joyce was a Home Health Aide for a time and she later took hair dressing classes at La Ponto's in 1978. Joyce was very active through her life. She enjoyed swimming, ice skating, water skiing and tennis. She enjoyed participating in aerobics classes. She enjoyed traveling with her family to Florida with visit friends. She was very proud of her children and loved to spend every opportunity with her grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her three children, Timothy and Beth Germano of Massena, Jill Nevill of Massena, and Jovan and Emily Germano of Louisville, NY. Six grandchildren; Ben Love, Hillary Durant, Brook Green, Tyler Nevill, Bailey Nevill, Devlin Germano and five great-grandchildren, Bella and Curran Love, Bodi Durant, Mia, and Jack Green, along with several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was also predeceased by her brother Garth LeGrow, a niece Cathy Germano and nephews Dennis Germano and Delbert LeGrow.

The family would also like to give a heartfelt thanks, to those who lovingly cared for Joyce at her home, namely Jackie Sheehan, Ann Borsellino Velma Wilbur and Peggy Layo.
