Joyce I. Harris (Sweet), 38, of Gloversville, New York, passed away on June 5, 2024, after a long battle with addiction. Joyce was born on October 6, 1985 to the late David M. and Rosalie (Berry) Sweet.
Joyce attended local schools, and was a graduate of the University of Phoenix, where she earned her Associates Degree in Accounting.
Joyce was a wonderful person, whose light shone bright. Unfortunately her light was dimmed by her struggle with addiction, but even on her darkest days she had nothing but love for everyone in her life.
The apple of Joyce's eye was her granddaughter, Zendaya. She loved spending time with her granddaughter, and was very proud to be her grandmother. She made a point to give her daughter Savana a call every night, even if it was only to tell Savana she loved her.
Joyce is survived by her children, Savana (Desiree) and Robert "Robbie"; her granddaughter, Zendaya; her parents, David and Rosalie; her siblings, Rebecca, Terry, and John; as well as her nieces and nephews, Tanisha, Robert "Little Man," Jacob, Emily, Jordan, Alexa, and J.D.
Joyce was preceded in passing by her nephew, Cameron.
Funeral services will be held privately, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, New York.
