Joyce Elaine Hatfield

Joyce Elaine (Heller) Hatfield, 85, passed away on June 14, 2024, in Suffield, CT, after a long battle with Dementia. She was born on October 1, 1938, to the late Joseph R. Heller Sr. and Edna B. (Higgins) Heller. She grew up on a farm in Suffield, CT, later moving to East Hartford, CT, where she graduated from East Hartford High class of '55. Joyce retired in 1996 after a 27-year career at AMF Cuno in Stafford, CT.
Joyce took great pride in having skipped the 2nd grade and being an amazing speller. She was a voracious reader and an enviable decorator, having decorated many homes she and her husband Bob had bought and sold over the years in CT, ME, RI, VT, NC and FL. Joyce was also a formidable cook and could create an admirable spread at a moment's notice, and with minimal ingredients! She was also the past president of the Elk's BPOE #2222 Emblem Club.
She leaves behind her loving and dedicated children to mourn, Terry Kelliher of Enfield, CT, Susan Kelliher Lopes (Eric) of Tisbury, MA and Eileen Kelliher Wilson (Richard) of Somers, CT. She was affectionately known as "Grammy" to her grandchildren Jenna Chabot, Rachael Wilson and Ryan Wilson, Rick and Sean Lopes and a few great-grandchildren. Joyce also leaves behind her devoted sister Mary-Beth Jendrzejewski (Steve), several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Kayti.
Joyce was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Robert Hatfield in 2023, as well as her brother, Joseph (Jay) R. Heller, Jr. and her granddaughter, Lauren J. Chabot.
Joyce's family would like to thank Dr. Dushant Parikh for his devoted care throughout the years and the Nurses and many Resident Care Associates at Reflections at Suffield by the River for their care.
