Joyce Hayden Obituary
Born in St. Albans on March 10, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Georgina (Smail) Sweeney. Joyce was 87 years old.
On December 27, 1957, in Georgia, she married Phillip B. Hayden, who predeceased her on March 31, 2006.
Joyce was very active in the Georgia community, delivering Meals on wheels, a bus driver and ran the lunch program for Georgia Elementary School, and could be seen working at the Georgia ABC Market. In her spare time, she loved playing cards, cribbage, fishing, buying lottery tickets, rides around the lake, playing horseshoes, but her greatest enjoyment was being with her family.
Survivors include her children, Randy Hayden, Deborah Hayden and Brian Hayden and his wife, Lisa as well as grandson Nicholas Hayden and his wife, Shelby, and great-grandson, Callan.
Joyce is also survived by her siblings, Janice Grenier and her husband Kenneth, June Waite and her husband, Paul, Jerrilyn Remillard and her husband, Hubert, and Jolly Bates and her husband, Gary, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Gerald and Georgina, Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Phillip and brother, Jay Sweeney.
Joyce's family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at the Northwestern Medical Center for the care and support she and her family received.
Joyce's family will receive family and friends on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 7th, at 11:00 AM at the Georgia United Methodist Church, Ethan Allen Highway, Georgia Center, with Pastor Seok-Cheol Shin officiating. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
Memorials in Joyce memory may be made to Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, P.O. Box 459, South Hero, Vermont 05486.

So sorry to hear of Joyce's passing. I remember Joyce from the Center Market and playing cribbage at the Georgia Youth Center with our many friends. She will be missed! Rest In Peace Joyce!
