Joyce Ann (Frazier) Henle, a spirited, thoughtful, and creative woman, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2023, in Goshen, IN, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born on November 7, 1936, in Louisville, KY, Joyce was the loving daughter of Harold and Mary (Newton) Frazier and a cherished sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Joyce spent her childhood years in Red Wing, MN. Joyce then moved back to Louisville, where she attended Ursuline Academy, graduating in 1955. Her passion for art led her to further her education at the Louisville Art School. She was a member of the Sorto Club, where she met and fell in love with John Henle. The couple married on August 22, 1970, in Louisville, KY, and together they raised three wonderful children.
Joyce's creativity knew no bounds, and she enjoyed a variety of arts and crafts throughout her life. From painting and drawing to sewing and jewelry making, Joyce's artistic talents were admired by all who knew her. She was also a proud member of the Doll Club, where she shared her passion for creating dolls with fellow enthusiasts. Her love for art was matched only by her love for her family, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren.
A devoted Catholic, Joyce was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Her faith guided her throughout her life, providing her with strength and comfort during challenging times. She was a shining example of kindness, compassion, and generosity, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Phillip, Charlotte, and Mary; and in-laws, Grace, Ernie, Ken, and Don
Carrying on Joyce's legacy are her children, John Henle Jr., Mary (Daniel) Baker, and Ann (Nathan) Miller; grandchildren, Tucker Miller, Sidney Miller, and Lavata Baker; siblings, Harold Frazier, Helen Patterson, Veronica Conrad, and George (Cynthia) Frazier; brother-in-law, Ken Walden; and numerous nieces and nephews.
As we remember and celebrate the life of Joyce Ann (Frazier) Henle, let us cherish the memories of her vibrant spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and her boundless creativity. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. May her soul rest in peace, and may her memory be a beacon of light and inspiration for all who knew.
The family will be accepting callers from 5-8pm on May 30 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral and Cremation Care, 3800 Bardstown Road Louisville, KY 40218. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, May 31 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
