Joyce Elaine Hyde, age 79, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024, in Bloomer, Wisconsin.
Joyce was born on January 21, 1945, in Dowagiac, Michigan, to Esther (Carlson) and Hiram “Rex” Stahl. Joyce was the youngest of 3 daughters. Her sisters: Verna Mae Brothers of Indiana and Julianna Turner of Illinois. Her father Rex, passed when she was 11 and she was raised thereafter solely by her mother Esther in Seneca, Illinois. Joyce met Charles Hyde early in life, and was married in July of 1962. She graduated from New Auburn High School in 1963.
Joyce worked at the Bloomer Hospital in patient admissions and as a teller at Security Bank in New Auburn. Joyce was also an Avon Saleswoman and Cake Decorator. She was a member of the New Auburn Bethel Lutheran Church Congregation. Joyce enjoyed tending to her gardens, family photography, singing karaoke and always doting on her family with affection and gifts.
She was preceded in death by twin girls: Catherine and Cynthia; and a son: Rex Clifford; sister: Julianna; nephew: Charlie Rex; and her parents.
Joyce is survived by her sons: David (Cindy Farrell) and Paul Hyde; sister: Verna; niece: Diana Minarich (Frank); and nephew: Terry Turner (Liliana).
A loving grandmother to 7 grandchildren: Vanessa Waroff (James), Gregory StoneHyde (Samantha), Jacob Hyde, Christofer Wood (Brittnay), Alexander Hyde (Sara), Nicholas Hyde (Danielle), and Darian Johnson (April).
A caring great-grandmother to 16 great-grandchildren: Rex, Dane, Baron, Henry, Maggie, Mason, Axel, Brooklynn, Kayden, Ahna, Dawson, Madison, Xae, Malcolm, Jamal, and Levi.
She is also survived by her partner: Bill Waldofski, and has been a part of the Waldofski family for the last 26 years. She was a bonus mom to Tammy Waldofski, Wendy (Dan) Preston, Donna (Eddie) Bivins, Willie Waldofski and Ross (Jessica) Waldofski. A grandmother to their children: Ashley, Nathan, Michael, Samantha, Janai, Will, Kaitlyn, Kylie, Wyatt, Madelyn, and Avery; a great-grandmother to: Maci, Ira, Draven, Ahri, Rohan, Richard, and Iyla.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 2:00 PM, on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. A memorial service will begin at 2:00 PM, on Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the Bloomer Cemetery. Olson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bloomer is assisting the family.
