Joyce Johnson Obituary
Freeland, Michigan
Loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Covenant Medical Center Cooper. Age 89 years. Daughter of the late Peter Krum and Virginia Mae (Daly) (Krum) Thomas, Joyce was born November 9, 1936, in Bay City, Michigan. She was married to Ron Brissette, then married John Blehm who predeceased her and then John Johnson who predeceased her also. Joyce was giving person, giving to many charities, and a proud homemaker who loved to help her family.
Surviving to cherish her memory are one son and two daughters, Rick Brissette and his wife Dawn Simons, Clearwater, Florida; Michelle and Bruce Miller, Saginaw; Tammy Lee, Freeland; a stepson, John Blehm Jr., Saginaw; a daughter-in-law, Jami Brissette, Bay City; five grandchildren, Jessica Thomas, Shanna Griffus, Brandi Miller and Stefan Brissette; two sisters, Dianne and Al "Fud" Williamson, Carla "Lola" Thomas; one brother, Chris Thomas; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Joyce was preceded in death by a son, Greg "Fez" Brissette; a granddaughter, Katie Griffus; one brother, Dick Krum; and one sister, Pat Barrowman.
A special thanks to Tiffany and Jeff Williams and their sons, Seth and Wyatt; Lois Tessin; Mariann Hlavacek; Jessica Myers; and the Covenant SICU staff; with special appreciation to Dr. Mirza and Amanda Niedrich.
Honoring Mrs. Johnsons wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place in the future. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
