Joyce Kempson

Mrs. Brenda Joyce Hall Kempson, age 82, of Concord, passed away February 1, 2026. Joyce grew up in Griffin, daughter of the late William Lonnie Hall and Katie Dye Hall. She worked as a secretary at the Georgia Baptist Children's Home in Meansville for over 15 years and then at the office of Dr. Frank Kirby in Zebulon for an additional 10 years. Joyce enjoyed going to yard sales, thrift stores, walking, reading her Bible and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Connection Church in Griffin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Kempson, daughter, Sherry Barksdale and granddaughter, Dayna Kempson.

She is survived by her children: Jeff Kempson (Lucretia) and Amy Weatherup (Bill); grandchildren: Jennifer Culverson (Jay), Toby Kempson, Heather Lawrence, Aaron Vickers and Riley Vickers; brothers and a sister: Lamar Purser, Betty Bankston and James Hall (Linda); many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 3 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Dr. Andrew Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Concord.

Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the funeral home.
