Lavada June Kempson, 68 of Bald Knob, Arkansas, joined her husband and sons in Heaven on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at her home surrounded by those who loved her. She was born in Heber Springs, Arkansas on April 14, 1957, to A.L. and Laverne (Wright) Williams.
You could always find her and Doug in the garden or in the chicken coop. When she wasn't outside playing in the pool with her grandkids, she was in the kitchen making her famous baked beans. Over the years she became Momma and Nanny to more kids (who weren't blood related) than she would ever know. Her heart and door were always open.
Left to cherish her memory are her mom, Laverne; her children, Jimmy Covey, Stacy Covey, Vaughn Kempson (Threasha), LeAnn Cooprider (Billy); 10 grandchildren, Blake Bascue (Kylee), Morgan Hutchison (Bo), Chase Covey (Brandy), Kyle Cooprider (MaKayla), Courtney Langford (Devin), Hunter Boyd (Emmah), Michael Kempson, Alexis Kempson, Taylor Covey, Chris Jones, and a bonus grandkid, Cameron Meroney; 11 great grandkids and several bonus kids and grandkids; ex son-in-law, Mike Hoyle (Tiernan); her siblings, Rufus Williams (Brenda), Eddie Joe Williams (Carolyn), Tammy Wools, Allen Williams (Connie). She also left behind her fur baby, Gracie.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Vaughn Douglas Kempson; her father, A.L. Williams; two sons, Josh Williams and James Jones; sister, Rhonda Hurst; sister-in-law, Ramona Hamrick; nephew, Kevin Smith; grandson, Baby Gary, and a son-in-law, Gary Cooprider.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Powell Funeral Home of Bradford from 12:00pm-1:00pm, Funeral Service will be conducted beginning at 1:00pm. Cremation will follow.
Arrangements were entrusted to Powell Funeral Home of Bradford.
