Vaughn "Doug" Kempson, 80 of Bald Knob, Arkansas passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, in Searcy, Arkansas. He was born in Russell, Arkansas on August 28, 1944, to Howard and Alberta (Fortenberry) Kempson.
Doug loved going riding in the bottoms and enjoying the outdoors. You could always find him in his garden when he was able. He liked anything strawberry. His passion was spending time with his grandkids and riding 4-wheelers with all the family. If the Price Is Right or Wheel of Fortune were on he could be found watching, he never missed either one. The way to his heart was Stacy's homemade peach cobbler, he loved it.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 43 years, Lavada Kempson; his children, Vaughn Kempson, LeAnn Cooprider (Billy), Jimmy Covey and Stacy Covey; nine grandchildren, Blake Bascue (Kylee), Morgan Hutchison (Bo), Chase Covey (Brandy), Kyle Cooprider (MaKayla), Courtney Langford (Devin), Hunter Boyd (Emma), Michael Kempson, Alexis Kempson, Taylor Covey and a bonus grandkid, Cameron Meroney; eleven great grandkids and several bonus kids and grandkids; ex son-in-law, Mike Hoyle (Tiernan).
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Josh Williams and James Jones; sister, Ramona Hamrick and brother-in-law, Lynne Hamrick; nephew, Kevin Smith; grandson, Baby Gary, and a son-in-law, Gary Cooprider.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Powell Funeral Home of Bradford from 1:00pm-3:00pm. Cremation will follow.
Arrangements were entrusted to Powell Funeral Home of Bradford.
