Joyce C. Gillis LeMay, 83, of Kingston, MA passed away peacefully on Oct 3, 2025, at Newbridge Rehab Center surrounded by her children. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Arthur L. LeMay on September 23, 2025.
She and her husband Arthur were married on August 18, 1963, and together they built a home filled with love, laughter and guidance and endless support. She was her children’s biggest supporter, and she could always be found in the stands, at the field or a track cheering her children on. She will be remembered for her whoopie pies and molasses cookies or whatever other culinary delight she would cook up.
Her warmth and kindness and unwavering strength made everyone feel welcome and everyone always got a hug when they left the house. She loved to have fun and always up for shenanigans, gave her children the love of music and she always had a way of making ordinary moments feel magical.
She is survived by her children Robin (Richard Whitney), Colleen, Richard (Michelle) and David, family dog Duke and grandchildren Kelsey (Jon) Whitaker, Tucker (Alexis) Martin and seven great-grandchildren Brooke, James, Adelaide, Margaret, Jonathan, Jr., Charlotte and Henry, her sister Donna (Wayne) Helms, brothers Clifford (Mary) and Gary (Mary) Gillis and cousins, nieces and nephews and beloved friends. She was predeceased by her parents Ethel (Hart) and Clifford Gillis and her brother Russell Gillis.
A wake will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025 from 2-6 PM at the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald Street, Hingham, MA.
