Joyce Lufkin, 78, of San Angelo, Texas died on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at her home.

She was born on March 8, 1947 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Forrest and Dorothy (Lane) Sims. She attended and graduated from Galesburg High School. She married Terry L. Lufkin on August 7, 1981 in Burlington, Iowa. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2021.

Surviving are her children: Terry Lufkin, Jr of San Angelo, Texas, Tracy (Jeff) Harms of Yates City, Illinois, and Lori (Richard) Osborn of Peoria, Illinois; five grandchildren: Jessica (Justin) Rose, Jordan Harms, Amber Wallace, Brad (Taylor) Osborn and Jenny Osborn; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jerry Sims of Burlington, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Forrest "Forrie" Sims, Jr.

She worked for Ethicon, a Johnson & Johnson company that develops innovative products and technologies for various medical specialties in San Angelo, Texas where she retired from.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at the Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville, Illinois, with Rev. David Pyell officiating. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Services are under the direction of the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois.
