Heidi Jeane Lufkin lost her ongoing battle with breast cancer on Friday, December 13, 2024. She was surrounded by much love, family and friends and passed peacefully in her sleep at the age of 51.
Heidi was raised in East Bridgewater by her loving parents, Wayne B. Lufkin and Sandra A. (Tolman) Lufkin. She was an amazing role model and loving sister to Gretchen C. Lufkin Vallejos. She was a talented flute and piccolo player in both the marching and concert bands and she was chosen to participate in both SEMSBA and NESBA during her high school career.
Heidi continued her education and earned a Bachelors of Mathematics at UMASS Dartmouth. For many years she worked as a dedicated accounting and office manager with the Bourne family in Middleboro.
However, Heidi's great accomplishment and dream come true was the birth of her daughter, Sophia Ann Belen Vega in 2010. Heidi was a kind hearted loving mother and devoted her life to her daughter until her very last days. Heidi enjoyed to travel when she could, games nights with girlfriends and time spent with her family around the pool. She was a baseball fanatic and if there was game on, mostly the Red Sox but not limited to, you could find her watching it.
She's leaves behind many loving family members including her only niece, Olivia L. Vallejos, many cousins, her aunt, as well as the Vega family.
We will honor her the way she lived her life with dignity and grace. And we pray that she sends her strength and guides us all through this tragedy.
