Joyce Carolyn Skinner Lyons, age 92, of Cumming, GA., passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at her home. She was a member of Refuge Baptist Church where she had played the piano and organ. She was a born-again Christian, who loved the Lord and reading her Bible. Mrs. Lyons was preceded in death by her husband, James Hyman Lyons; her parents, James and Mary Bearden Skinner; her sons, Steven Martin Lyons and James Myron Lyons; sister and brothers-in-law, Maryann (Dick) Henjum and Robert (Bob) Tucker. She was retired from AT&T with 36 years of service and had volunteered at Northside Forsyth Hospital for over 28 years. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, sewing and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her children, Donna Tucker, Patricia (Kevin) Wichlan, Jeffrey Lyons; grandchildren, Jerry (Tonya) Adcock, John (Crystal) Adcock, Timmy Richardson, Andrew Richardson, Michael (Jayme) Richardson, Courtney Lyons; 11 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Sawnee View Gardens with Rev. Bob Ensminger officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be mailed to the Forsyth County Fire Department “The Benefit Fund” at 3655 Watson Road, Cumming, GA. 30028 or you can give online to the BADGE.
