Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ottman Funeral Home - Cherry Valley from May 26 to May 27, 2025.
Joyce Laura Tudor Morley, 87, of
Cherry Valley, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in New York City, Joyce was the cherished daughter of the late Edwin and Naomi Tudor. A woman of boundless curiosity and joy, she lived a life rich in adventure, creativity, and love.
Joyce had a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world-both natural and cultural. She was an avid traveler, journeying across the United States and around the globe to experience the diversity of people and places. At home, her love for flowers and nature flourished through her active membership in the Fort Plain Garden Club. Her talent and eye for beauty earned her several awards for her floral arrangements at the Fonda Fair-just one expression of her creative spirit.
A gifted painter with a keen artistic eye, Joyce found joy in bringing color and emotion to canvas. She also loved singing and dancing with her family at gatherings, filling every room with laughter, music, and light. Her cheeky sense of humor and joyful presence left a lasting impression on all who knew her-leaving us with a song in our heart and a dance in our step.
With thanks to cherished friend Jack Cannon, Joyce was a proud member of the NAVA ski club, and enjoyed ski weekends at Mohawk Mountain with her family and friends. Though she held a variety of jobs over the years, her most fulfilling and treasured role was raising her children and grandchildren. She found deep meaning in family life and took great pride in nurturing and celebrating those around her.
One of her greatest joys in recent years was welcoming her great-grandson, with whom she shared two beautiful and love-filled years.
Joyce is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, David; with whom she met on a blind date, her daughters Jolene Owen, Alison Wulff, and Barbara Morley; her grandchildren Naomi Wulff, Tory Wulff, Sadie Morley (Caleb), Lillian Gallup, Evelyn Gallup, Jackson Moyer, and her great-grandson Cassius. She also leaves behind her beloved sisters, and best friends in life Grace Downes and Alyce Moyer, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Joyce's legacy of love, creativity, and joyful living will continue to blossom in the hearts of all who knew her.
