Arlington, GA - Joyce Morris, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the age of 84. Born in Colquitt, Georgia, on May 18, 1941, Joyce was a cherished member of the Arlington community, where she resided for many years.
Joyce dedicated her professional life to serving others as an Office Administrator at Calhoun County Memorial Hospital, where she worked diligently until her retirement. Her commitment to her work and her community was evident in all she did. Joyce was also a devoted member of the Arlington Baptist Church, where she found joy and fellowship.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edwin L. Morris, her grandparents Edgar and Annie Bates, her father, Milton Houston, and her mother, Nettie Mikrut. Joyce is survived by her two sons, Roger Morris (Kellie) of Leesburg, GA, and Shannon Morris of Milton, FL. She was a proud grandmother to Blake Sapp, Andrew Sapp, Eden Morris, Faith Beckett (Tyler), Kaitlyn Morris, Hannah Morris, and Michael Morris. Joyce is also survived by her brother, Edward Mikrut (Kelly) of Kentucky and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at 789 Pioneer Rd., Arlington, GA. A graveside service will be held in her honor at Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 11:00 am., officiated by Dr. Gary Hadden and Dr. Van Power.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home, who have provided compassionate care during this difficult time.
Mrs. Joyce will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones and church family. Her legacy of love and service to Jesus Christ will continue to inspire those that knew her. She studied His Word relentlessly so that she could share it with those she knew and met. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those she touched.
