It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joyce Comer Morris, a beloved resident of South Boston, Virginia, who peacefully departed this world at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, October 17th, 2025, at the age of 86. Born in Halifax County on August 2nd, 1939, Joyce's life was a testament to faith, love, and devotion.
Joyce was predeceased by her loving parents, George Robert Comer and Mary Elizabeth Zimmerman Comer, as well as her cherished spouse, Page Owen Morris. Her life was one of commitment and service as a devoted homemaker, where she dedicated her time and energy to nurturing the values and virtues of her family. Her home was a sanctuary filled with warmth and wisdom, grounded in her steadfast Christian faith.
A devout Christian and a member of Centerville Baptist Church, Joyce held her faith close to her heart, living a life that exemplified the teachings and compassion of her beliefs. Her family was the center of her world, and she found immense joy in bestowing the Christian values she held dear onto them, ensuring they grew up with strong moral and spiritual foundations.
She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Lynn Wilson (Mark), Vivian Diane Morris, Bonnie Morris Glasscock (Steven Newton), Bonita Peck (Keith) and Ann Page Morris (Kacey Phillips); grandchildren, Amanda Williams (Tommy), Amber Faulkner (Jonathan), J.W. Rutherford (Kristin Lacks), Erica Newcomb (Scott Day), Jessica Balducci (Josh), Mary Owen (Mark), Joshua Clark (Maisey), Amy Wilson (Cody Wiles), Chloe Peck, Onalee Devereaux, and John Glasscock, Jr.; 8 great grandchildren; brothers, Bobby Comer (Dot) and Roger Comer (Edna); sisters-in- law, Judy Comer, Sandra Comer, & Elsie Comer; special family friends, Dorothy Garrett, Valerie Link and Joyce Lowery and many friends and family members that she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by great grandchildren, Eli Owen Newcomb and Baby Owen; and siblings, Eugene Comer, Lloyd Comer, Louis Comer, Tommy Comer and Gladys Williamson.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Centerville Baptist Church with Pastor Todd McClure officiating. Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday night, October 20th from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM at Centerville Baptist Church and other times at her home.

Joyce's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love and devotion will continue to echo in the lives of her family and community, who will forever cherish her memory.ers
