Joyce May (Richard) Mulrooney, 77, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025. Born in Hazardville, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Donald L. Richard Sr. and Mae (Langevin) Richard.Joyce was predeceased by her three brothers: David Richard, Donald L. Richard Jr., and Michael Richard. She spent 50 years living in Springfield before moving throughout Connecticut, New York, Texas, and finally settling at Quaboag Skilled Nursing Center in West Brookfield, Massachusetts last year. She loved visiting her children wherever life took them.She is survived by her two sons, Thomas Mulrooney III and Shawn P. (Lori) Mulrooney; her daughters, Corinne (Robert) Clark and Cathleen (Chad) Thomas; her sister, Mae Richard-Cross; and her brothers, Charles Richard and Calvin Richard. Joyce also leaves behind seven beloved grandchildren-Cody and Corbin Thomas, Andrea Clark, Angelina Mulrooney, Saffon O'Rourke, Indica Eclipse, and Epiphany Aurora-seven great-grandchildren, and many cherished extended family members.
Joyce had a passion for mystery novels, all things John Wayne, word searches and crossword puzzles. She found great joy in crocheting scarves and afghans for her children, grandchildren, and even strangers-anyone really. You want an afghan?
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow. Services and burial will be private.In lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society. www.forastiere.com
