Joyce V. Penix

Joyce V. Penix, of Pauls Valley, passed away December 8, 2025 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years.
Joyce Pearson was born February 18, 1937 in Los Angeles, California to Vern E. and Emma E. Pearson. She was married to Benjamin Thomas "Ben" Penix in Shawnee, Oklahoma on November 13, 1954 and moved from there to make Pauls Valley their home most of her life. She was a Business Owner-Operator for many years she and her husband served Pauls Valley at Ben's Country Kitchen Restaurant; she worked for the Pauls Valley Schools as cook. Joyce was a long-time member of Pauls Valley Trinity Baptist Church and served there in various ways including cooking at Falls Creek each year. She worked with the Girl Scouts and loved to travel. She never met a stranger and always wore a smile. Joyce also loved Southern Gospel Music.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Emma Pearson; her husband of 33 years, Ben Penix; a granddaughter, Kelly Wood; and a brother, Dwight Pearson.
Joyce is survived by her four daughters, Karen Hall, Glenda and Max "Ed" Oliver, Diane and Steven Wood, and Cheryl and Jerry Dunkle; 11 grandchildren, Stephanie and Kenneth Dunn, Elizabeth and Brenton Duncan, Thomas and Erin Hall, Max and Courtney Oliver, Cody Wood, Mary and Mike Marshall, Rebecca Phifer and fiancé, Tim Brault, Ben and Racie Hall, Michael Oliver, Allison and Bradon Lynch, Madison and Karson Keef; 16 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; as well as, close friends, Thelma and Harold Ragland.
Pallbearers will be Steven Wood, Cody Wood, Thomas Hall, Benjamin Hall, Jerry Dunkle, Ed Oliver, Monte Pearson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Terry Mott. Interment will be at Mt.
