Joyce J. Petrecca (Joy) of Ivyland, PA died peacefully on Sunday, March 2, 2025. She was 76. Joy was born in Philadelphia, PA and resided in Bucks County for the past 55 years. She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Ruth Snellbaker Ottinger and the sister of the late Frederick Ottinger (Colleen) and Ann Marie Corbett (late Jack).
Joy worked in the Neshaminy School District for many years. As an instructional assistant, she touched the lives of many children. She was a friendly, energetic, and fun person who loved spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed going down the shore with her daughter and granddaughter. One of her favorite hobbies was to go shopping. She always had people gravitate to her which initiated long conversations (with strangers) most places she went. It was so frequent, that it became a family joke. Some of her other hobbies included going out dancing with friends, cooking, music, and muscle cars. Joy also possessed a strong love for animals. She had many pets over the years including dogs, cats, and birds.
Joy was the beloved wife of 55 years to Daniel S. Petrecca Jr. She is also survived by her loving daughter Joy Rizzo and her husband Don of Doylestown, PA and her granddaughter Gina Rizzo who she adored. Joy is survived by brothers William Ottinger (Terri) and Robert Ottinger (Lori), her sister Donna Reese, her special cousin, Elaine, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday Evening, March 6, 2025 from 6:00PM until her Funeral Service 7:30PM in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.)
Richboro, PA 18954. Her interment will take place on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 11 am in St. Joseph's Cemetery on Cemetery Road in Jim Thorpe, PA 18229. In lieu of flowers, donations can be mailed to the Women's Animal Center, 3839 Richlieu Road, Bensalem, PA 19020.
