Joyce K. Pollara (Cox), 89, of Weymouth, formerly of Braintree, Massachusetts passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, December 19, 2025.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Joyce will be remembered for her strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication to caring for others.
Born on August 7, 1936 in Manchester,NH to John and Dorothy Cox she had 2 brothers William Cox and Donald Cox each of whom have proceeded her in death.
Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years Matthew P Pollara Sr. She is survived by her six children Donna A. Russo and husband James of Pembroke, MA, Matthew P Pollara Jr and wife Jean of Plymouth, MA, Dorothy E. Hamm and husband Derek of Lehigh Acres, FL, Karen M. Fava and husband Joseph of Halifax, MA,
Richard Pollara of Quincy, MA, and David C. Pollara and longtime partner Debbie DeAngelis of Braintree,MA.
Joyce is also survived by 13 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was a Registered Nurse and devoted the majority of her career
caring for the elderly in long term care.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, socializing with friends, and playing bingo. She especially loved when her grandchildren, and great grandchildren came to visit.
Visiting Hours will be 4-7 on Monday December 29th at the McDonald Keohane funeral home 809 Main St Weymouth, MA.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Tuesday December 30th at 10:30 AM at the Funeral Home followed by interment in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
