Joyce Elaine Pyonk (Donaldson), age 85, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, in Elkhart, Indiana.
Born on May 4, 1940, in Eureka, Kansas, Joyce was the daughter of John and Violet Donaldson. She grew up in Kansas and graduated from Newton High School in 1958. Her early years laid the foundation for a life marked by dedication to family and a strong work ethic.
Throughout her life, Joyce embraced many roles with grace and determination. She devoted herself to creating a loving home for her family while working in various sales industries, balancing professional pursuits with her deep commitment to those around her. Her warmth, humor and resilience left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Joyce found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for gardening, birdwatching, and her love of cooking brought people together around the table. Music was another source of happiness, providing comfort and inspiration throughout the years. Above all else, she cherished time spent with family and friends.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: John (Lynne) Cline of AZ, Jeffrey Cline (Jessica Osias) of TN, and Kristin Pyonk of MI; two grandchildren, Abe and Meredith Cline; two extended family grandchildren, Anna and Aidan Osias; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jerry Pyonk; her parents John and Violet Donaldson; her brother Jerry Donaldson; and sisters Judy Winsky and Laura Lynne Donaldson.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. In lieu of a service, the family requests that you celebrate Joyce’s life by reflecting on your time knowing Joyce and how she may have touched your life; may a smile cross your face.
