Joyce Ann Samons

Joyce Ann Samons, 92, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Cedargate Health Care.

Joyce was born on August 14, 1933, to William and Verna (Miller) Roberts in Pine, Missouri. She married Chester Leroy Samons on July 14, 1953, in Corning, Arkansas.

Joyce retired from Kmart after 26 years as a human resource officer. She loved going to auctions. She also enjoyed gardening in her younger years. Joyce was a big animal lover and was especially fond of her canine companions over the years. She was of the Baptist faith. Joyce appreciated the simple things in life and loved her family dearly.

Joyce is survived by her three children, Judy (Charles) Wallace, Jerry (Brenda) Samons, and Julie Bruce; sister, Joan (Leon) Thornton; brother, Bob (Phyllis) Roberts Jr.; five grandchildren, Jason, Charles Jr., James, Samantha, and Rachel; sixteen great-grandchildren; along with numerous extended family members and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, William and Verna; husband, Chester; brother, Joseph Roberts; three sisters, Joy, Jan, and June.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 09, 2026, from 1:00-2:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral service will follow beginning at 2:00pm with Rev. Russell Chitwood officiating. Private burial will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
