With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joyce Sturgeon Saye, who left us on Thursday, September 25, 2025. Joyce was born on February 1, 1947, and spent her early years in Albuquerque, New Mexico, later making a new life in Braselton, Georgia. She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend whose vibrant spirit touched many lives.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Jean Sturgeon; her sister, Barbra Beckham; and her sweet daughter, Hallie Keneda. She is survived by her devoted son, Rusty Saye, and his wife, Ashley Saye; her son-in-law, Steven Keneda; and her four grandchildren: Cassidy Keneda, Jacksyn Saye, Layne Saye, and Channing Saye.

Known for her spunky personality and determination, Joyce pursued life with purpose and heart. Her deep love for the Lord was evident in everything she did, and she radiated that faith most especially to her grandchildren, who always called her "Gigi."

Joyce had a lifelong love for horses-whether on a movie screen or in a passing field, the sight of a horse never failed to light up her face. In her later years, she found great joy in artistic expression. Whether painting on rocks for her garden, creating animal portraits, or creating funny quotes on canvas, her creativity brought color and laughter to those around her.

Fashion was another passion of Joyce's-she was known for always having the perfect outfit for any occasion. Her sense of style was just one of the many things that made her unforgettable.

Above all, Joyce's love for her family remained constant in her life. She never missed a moment to remind them of how deeply she cared. She was a safe haven, a source of unconditional love, and a warm embrace for anyone who needed it. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her memory and the love she gave will remain in our hearts forever.

A celebration of Joyce's life will be held at the beach, one of her favorite places. Details regarding the time and location will be shared at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a wonderful organization- 'Ponies with a Purpose' who made it possible for Joyce to love on a horse one last time. Their time and heart is something we greatly appreciate and want to give others the same opportunity. Their venmo is @ponieswithapurpose.

We thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers-they mean more than words can express.
