Barbara Jo "Meme" Saye
May 11, 1940 – November 21, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Jo "Meme" Saye on November 21, 2024, at the age of 84. With grateful hearts for a life well-lived and devoted to Christ, we remember Barbara as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and faithful servant of the Lord.
Born on May 11, 1940, in Houston, TX, Barbara dedicated her life to her family and her faith. A woman of unwavering Christian values, she found her greatest joy in serving others and sharing God's love. Her life was a testimony to the power of prayer, grace, and perseverance.
Barbara's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She loved sharing Scripture, singing hymns, and encouraging others in their spiritual journeys. Her hands were always busy, whether keeping an immaculate home or cooking for family gatherings, all while demonstrating the heart of Christ in everything she did.
Known lovingly as "Meme" to her family and friends, Barbara cherished her role as the family matriarch. Her wisdom, warmth, and unwavering prayers were a blessing to everyone who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith that will continue to inspire for generations.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Lauri Saye; her sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Glenn Kirk; her grandchildren, Matt Saye, James Dyer, Clint Dyer, Daniel Dyer, Rebekah Dyer, and Rachel Duncan; her great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Finn, and Scotland Saye, Luke Wormington, and Gianna and Evalyn Piña; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and brothers- and sisters-in-law.
She is reunited in Heaven with her husband, Larry Saye Sr.; her son, Larry Saye Jr.; her mother, Josephine "Nanny" Cloud; her father, Claybion Cloud; and her brother and sister-in-law, Sonny and Francis Cloud.
A celebration of Barbara's life and faith will be held on Monday, December 2nd, at Lindale Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, with the funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A reception will follow at 12:00 PM. The burial will take place at 2:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park.
Barbara Jo "Meme" Saye's life exemplified the words of 2 Timothy 4:7: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." She is now home, singing with the angels and basking in the glory of her Lord.
