Joyce Mabel Schell

Joyce Mabel (Gerstenberger) Schell, 84 of Sandusky passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 30, 2024 with her loving family by her side.
Joyce was born on May 5, 1940 on the family farm to the late Clarence and Edna (Buss) Gerstenberger. She graduated from Sandusky High School. She married Ron Craig and they were married for 25 years. Joyce attended the Heritage Church in Snover and was a beautician in the area for many years. Joyce was an independent, industrious woman. She had many titles throughout her life, school lunch lady, bus driver, restaurant owner, waitress, cook, farmer and beautician. After retirement, Joyce liked to keep herself busy with her grandchildren's sporting events, quilting, babysitting, tending to flowerbeds and keeping her family in line. Joyce's most beloved title was that of mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was the heart of the family. Her home was always filled with the pitter patter of her grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Ron Craig; daughter, Debra (Ted Alkins) Schell; son Richard (Kimberly) Schell; daughter in law, Shanna Schell; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Joyce is preceded in death by her son, Wayne Schell; grandson, Casey Schell; son in law, Thomas Earls; brothers, William and Dean Gerstenberger.
We will gather on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 2 o' clock pm, at the Heritage Church in Snover, 3329 Snover Road, Snover, MI to honor grandmother's legacy, encapsulate her life story and the values she instilled in all those she loved.
"This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine."
