John Gill Obituary
John was born on November 17, 1964 in Marlette to the late Charlie and Shirley (Hallead) Pupi. He attended Sandusky High School. John married Elyn Hassler (Houthoofd) June 29, 1990. He worked at several lumber yards and was currently employed by Tri-County Equipment delivering parts to all of the Tri-County locations. John enjoyed deer hunting and restoring classic cars and trucks and riding his Harley motorcycle. He loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.
John is survived by his wife of 35 years, Elyn; children, Ian (Kayla) Gill and Tamara (Robert) Creager; six grandchildren, Zachary, Gabrielle, Thomas, Owen, Braxton and Miles; siblings, Carl (Darlene) Hallead, Gene (Brenda) Pupi, Brian (Denise) Pupi, Barb Whitney and Mike (Karen) Pupi; brother-in-law, Eric (Shirley) Houthoofd; and many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Shirley Pupi; in-laws, Duane and Jean Houthoofd; and brother-in-law, Evan (Brenda) Houthoofd.
The family will receive visitors from 10 AM – 1 PM on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Sandusky, Michigan.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday January 17, 2026 at Marsh Funeral Chapel, Sandusky, Michigan with a luncheon following at the Countryside Free Methodist Church, 912 Sanilac Road, Sandusky, Michigan.
Memorials may be made in his honor to the Family Discretionary Fund in care of Elyn Gill.
