Joyce (Chillson) Shivaram of Naperville Illinois passed away in the comfort of her home with her Daughter Shanti and Sister Jody by her side on January 7th, 2025.
Joyce was born on September 8th,, 1949 in Springfield, Massachusetts. The daughter of Eileen (Richardson) Chillson and the late Richard Chillson. Having graduated from Enfield High School.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Mukundan, her father Richard Chillson, her brother-in-laws Yuri Nair, Jackie Lippi, Stephen Misuraca.
She leaves behind her cherished daughter Shanti. Along with her sisters Judy (and Jack) Cofer, Dee Chillson, Joanne (and Fitz:) Fitzsimons, Janet (and Thomas) Boberek, Jeri (and Russell) St. John, Jody Lippi, and her brother Richard Jr.
Joyce spent many years teaching Catholic Sunday Education, from communion to confirmation at the church of St. Elizabeth Seton.
Enjoying the time with her daughter, Joyce led her Girl Scout troop on many adventures and educational trips.
After the passing of her husband and the growth of her daughter, Joyce returned to the church as a student and helper, on a quest to understand the Lord, the Bible, and herself better.
Along the way Joyce discovered the joy of creating beaded jewelry, paper cards, and other crafts. Always willing to have meals out with friends and family, Joyce's positive outlook, her contagious laughter and bright spark will be missed by all who knew her.
A mass honoring her life will be held at St. Elizabeth Seton on January 15th at 10 am, with a memorial mass to be held at a future date in Connecticut.
