Joyce Adela Siebels

Joyce Adela Siebels (nee Frieboes), born on February 17, 1939, in Yankton, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was the cherished wife of Larry William Siebels, with whom she shared over 66 years of love and companionship.

Joyce was the beloved daughter of John Albert Frieboes and Hazel Elizabeth Volkers. As the eldest daughter of a pastor, she always carried the values of her upbringing with her throughout her life. On October 25, 1957, she fulfilled her dream of marrying a farmer when she wed Larry in Minden, Iowa. Together, they raised a beautiful family, including their children Scott William Siebels (Shannon Siebels), Lori Jo Dauss (Jeff Dauss), and Rodney Allen Siebels (Bob Parker).

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Grace Siebels; and daughter, Janet Lynn Siebels.

Joyce shared her life's journey with her siblings Dennis Frieboes (Sally Frieboes), Donna Rambo, and Jon Frieboes. She was adored by her grandchildren Tyler Siebels, Mark Siebels, Ryan Dauss, and Christopher Dauss, as well as her great-grandchildren Bennett Siebels, Nora Dauss, Jackson Dauss, Josephine Dauss, Meredith Dauss, and Finley Dauss.

Joyce lived life to the fullest, embracing each day with her infectious sense of humor and zest for adventure. A dedicated member of the Minden United Church Christ and later the Carson United Methodist Church, Joyce served her community faithfully as the Carson church representative to Share and Care, where she made numerous contributions to those in need. She had a knack for making flapjacks like nobody else and enjoyed spending time with her birds, flowers, and cherished friends.

Joyce was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals with unwavering enthusiasm. She had a passion for travel, embarking on countless adventures, including Caribbean cruises, trips to Europe, and explorations of the United States.

Throughout her career as an X-ray tech, Joyce displayed professionalism and compassion in equal measure. She served as the supervisor of the X-ray department at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, leaving a lasting impact on all those she worked with.

Joyce's warm smile, kind heart, and ability to connect with anyone she met will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and selflessness that will continue to inspire generations to come.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 12th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home.

A celebration of Joyce's life will be held on Saturday, April 13th at 10:00 a.m. at Carson United Methodist Church in Carson, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carson church or Care and Share House in Council Bluffs.

As we bid farewell to Joyce, let us remember her with fondness and gratitude for the love and joy she brought into our lives. Though she may be gone, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her remarkable life. Rest in peace, dear Joyce. You will be deeply missed, but your memory will forever be cherished.
