R. Gary Osborne was born to Jack and Violet Osborne 6/12/1941 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1960. While in high school, he was a member of the R.O.T.C. program.
Gary drove semi-truck and was a Teamster for over 30 years with Hinky Dinky, Super Valu, and Foodliner. He and his wife, Joyce owned the Rolling "O" Bar and Grill in Waterloo, Nebraska.
He was an active 4-H leader for many years, bringing plumbing in as a new category. He was a member of the Douglas County Extension Service Board and Lionel Train Club.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce, daughter, Natalie, sons Matthew (G.P.) and Daniel (Jodi), and daughter Kelli; grandchildren Benjamin, Airelle, Breanna, Emily, Jordan, Suzanna, Kayden, Joshua, and Joyce; Great-grandchildren Mason, Finley, and Morgan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, stepsister Wendy Deal, Sisters-in-law Laura, Pat, and Kay (Paul), and Daughter-out-law, Tiffini.
Gary passed away at home, just as he wanted. He is preceded in death by parents Jack and Violet Osborne, 2 brothers, 4 sisters and several nieces and nephews. Gary's family invites you to a Celebration of Life at Gary's Barn in Waterloo on August 23, 2025 from 1-4pm. Bring a great story to share!
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Waterloo, Nebraska Volunteer Fire Department
