Joyce LaDonna Simonsen

Joyce LaDonna (Booth) Simonsen passed away peacefully on January 5,2026. She was born in Holdenville, Oklahoma on April 3, 1948, to Lloyd C Booth and Goldean M (Aultman) Booth. She attended Holdenville Public Schools later moving to Britton, Oklahoma attending John Marshall High School. At the age of 16 she married the love of her life John Henry Simonsen on November 6, 1964, where they lived in Britton until moving to the Mustang Yukon area.
During her early years she worked as a pharmacy tech w/Hyde Drug, ran a children's day care center with her sister June at the Greens Country club, then to Woodlake Racquet club which later closed due to the oil bust in the 1980's. She then started an in-home daycare. She treated every family and child that walked through the door as if they were family also. The later years she spent working in the automotive industry for Powers Auto Group and finally Diffee Auto Group.
She was a loving, caring and giving daughter, sister, wife, mother, NaNaw and friend to all. She Enjoyed traveling, going to the casinos, spending time with family, baking, cooking delicious foods for everyone. She is remembered by those who knew her the best as a prayer warrior with a huge heart. Funny and feisty personality. Never met a stranger and wasn't afraid to meet a neighbor in the middle of the street to fight for those she loved.
Ladonna is preceded in death by her parents, Her husband, John. Daughter Shelley, 6 brothers, Gilbert, Darrel, Vestal, Norman, Dee Wayne, Joe and 3 sister's, Virginia, Ila June, unnamed sister along with several nieces and nephews. She has survived. By her 2 sons John Simonsen, II and wife, Christine of Yukon, OK. Todd Simonsen and wife Dawn of Mustang, OK 1 daughter. Andrea Burnett and husband Roger of Mustang, OK. Also 3. Grandchildren. Jelisa. Gabe and Parker and several nieces and nephews.
