Joyce Snyder Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sliefert Funeral Home - Sioux Rapids on Jan. 19, 2026.
Joyce Snyder, age 97, of Spencer, Iowa, formerly of Webb, Iowa, died peacefully Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at her residence.

Celebration of Life services will take place at a later date. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.

Joyce Snyder was born December 6, 1928 in Humboldt, Iowa, the daughter of Karl and Elizabeth (Evans) Dalziel, where they resided for two and one half years. She spent most of her childhood in the Linn Grove area, then moved to California where she graduated high school. Joyce always talked about one of her fondest memories as a young girl is when she received her first pair of ice skates and a new dress that went with her skates.

Later, Joyce returned to Iowa and met Don Snyder. Don and Joyce married on March 27, 1948 at the Methodist parsonage in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. This union was blessed with three children: Joy, Bart and Joni.

Joyce was always there to support her kids with their activities whether it be with their horses or sports. She loved her garden, helping Don on the farm, and was a beautiful seamstress. She always was there to help her friends and her community. Joyce will be remembered for her resilience, determination, and her generosity. Joyce will be carried in our hearts forever.

Those left to cherish Joyce's memory are her children: Bart (Jane) Snyder of Newtown, Missouri; Joni (Todd) Campidilli of Woodward, Iowa; her grandchildren: Robert (Andrea) Winfrey; Ryan (Christi) Scrivner; Lisa (Kevin) Day; Christy (Chris) Schakel; Kalvin (Kelli Jo) Glienke; Cody (Kaci) Snyder; Clayton Campidilli; fourteen great grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Tom (Diane) Snyder of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; one sister-in-law, Joan Walquist of Linn Grove, Iowa; extended family and many friends who shared in her life.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Don and her daughter, Joy Winfrey and her parents, Karl and Elizabeth (Evans) Dalziel.
