Joyce Ellen (nee Preston) Spears, 86 of West Chester, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025. Born to Leonard and Vestina Brown (nee Benge) Preston on November 6, 1938, in Nicholasville, Kentucky.
Joyce had a knack for holiday decorating. It didn’t matter which holiday, big or small she enjoyed decorating. Her favorite was Christmas, not only did she decorate she loved making her famous Christmas candy and sharing it with family, friends and neighbors.
Joyce was the creative type. She liked crafting with her grandkids and making ceramics in her free time. She also collected Precious Moments and Hummel figurines from Germany. She could be the best bargain hunter and the most patient person around.
She was kindhearted and loved the presence of her family for holiday gatherings and attending her grandkids school, dance, cheerleading or sporting events.
Preceded in death by her parents, her son, James E. Spears and her sister, Barbara J. Grover.
Joyce is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Carson C. Spears, daughter, Beth A. (John) Krusling, daughter in law, Sherry Spears, grandchildren, Matt (Shannon) Krusling, Andy (Kelsey) Krusling, Josh (Rachel) Krusling, Amanda (Tim) Jump and Bailey Spears, seven great grandchildren, Halle, Knox, Piper, Kolee, Grady, Luca and Maxine Krusling, nieces and nephews, Valerie (Jesse) Prather, Ron (Janet) Roddy, Scott (Lynn) Grover, Bill (Robin) Grover and numerous great nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 13th from 5:00-6:00pm with a memorial service at 6:00pm at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
