Joyce Kay Tiley, born on September 30, 1931, in Canton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on December 20, 2025. A woman of faith, grace, and compassion, Joyce lived a life marked by devotion to her family, deep and lasting friendships, and a joyful spirit that touched all who knew her. She always looked for ways to care for others and showed genuine interest in their lives, so that even those she interacted with only briefly opened up to her and were drawn to her kind nature and good humor.

She stood out in her younger years by earning a Bachelor of Science in Education from Bowling Green State University, and later completed her Master of Science in Education at the University of Michigan. She taught elementary school in both Michigan and Ohio, and was able to lovingly influence children not only in their educational learning, but also in their character formation, as she did with her own children and grandchildren.

Joyce and her husband Bill married in Canton, Ohio, where they lived for 22 years and enjoyed raising their two children, David and Jane. Joyce's life was enriched by many hobbies and interests that brought joy both to herself and those around her. She was an accomplished painter, and in general, a very creative and artistic person whose love for crafts and projects brought together friends old and new. As a member of the Canton Women's Club and YoungLife Committee, she remained active in her community, sharing her time and talents generously.

After moving to Johnstown, PA, Joyce continued to serve others. With a close friend, she founded Joyce & Meg's Personal Touch, a business dedicated to providing custom clothing for nursing home residents. This endeavor was more than a business; it was an extension of her heart, offering dignity and comfort to those in need.

After moving to the greater Atlanta area, Joyce and Bill joined Johns Creek United Methodist Church, where her faith in Jesus continued to form the undercurrent of her life. Her spiritual strength guided her actions and offered solace to many. She had a unique gift for making people feel seen and heard-always ready with a listening ear or a warm embrace. Whether welcoming someone into her home or encouraging them through life's challenges, she created safe spaces filled with kindness.

Joyce cherished time spent with family above all else and will be missed and lovingly remembered by her son David Tiley (Christina), Danny, McKenna, and Caleigh Tiley; daughter Jane Tiley Kenyon (John), Michael and John Kenyon. Her legacy lives on through their laughter, stories, and the values she instilled.

Fun-loving and adventurous, especially when surrounded by her grandchildren, Joyce leaves behind a legacy of love rooted in faith. May her memory bring comfort to all who were blessed to know her.

She now joins in eternal peace, joy, and rest, her beloved husband of 46 years, William Lee Tiley, and her parents, Hilda and Donald Widmer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 27 at 1:00 pm at Johns Creek United Methodist Church, located at 11180 Medlock Bridge Road, Johns Creek, GA 30097.
