Joyce Britt Turner

Joyce Britt Turner, 90, formerly of Ivor, Virginia, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Walter G. Britt and Minnie Ruth Bailey Britt. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years Earnest Edward Turner, Sr.

Joyce worked as a certified nursing assistant at Petersburg General Hospital and Southside Regional Hospital for nearly seventeen years in the mother/baby unit. She had a true passion for caring for others, and after retiring from hospital work, she continued serving her community through home health care for an additional ten years. In her free time, Joyce enjoyed hunting and fishing. Above all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: her daughter, Trena Turner Berg, and husband Michael, and their children, Michael Brian White (Sebrina), Ashley Kaye White (Brandon), Brandy Nicole Vaughn (Dustin), and Jessica Michelle Berg; and her son, Earnest Edward Turner, Jr., and his children, Kevin Christopher Turner and David Aaron Turner, and their mother, Anne-Louise Burley. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Austyn, Benjamin, James and Kaleb.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
