Joyce Elaine (Roehl) Zoschke, 74, passed away on August 16, 2025, at her home in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on January 31, 1951, in Fayetteville, Arkansas; the daughter of William and Marie (Osborn) Roehl.

Joyce's pursuit of knowledge led her to John Brown University, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree of Science. Her love for education never waned, and she dedicated many years to teaching at Garden City Christian School. Joyce's passion for helping others extended beyond the classroom as she engaged in missionary training, taught ESL at Garden City Community College, and volunteered at the ABC Pregnancy Center. Her commitment to these causes reflected her deep-rooted Christian faith and her desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others.

As a preacher's wife, Joyce was deeply involved in her church family. She led Bible study classes with grace and insight, nurturing the spiritual growth of countless individuals as well as teaching and directing children's church ministries. Her love for the Lord was evident in her every action and in the kind words she shared with all who crossed her path.

Joyce's interests were as rich and varied as the life she led. She enjoyed singing, playing piano, and found solace and joy in the pages of countless books. Her neat and orderly nature was more than a preference as she was known to be a bit of a neat-freak.

To know Joyce was to know a friend. She had an extraordinary ability to connect with people, to share in their joys and sorrows, and to offer comfort and wisdom. Joyce's role as a mother and grandmother was paramount. Family get togethers for birthdays and other occasions were times she cherished dearly.

Joyce is survived by her husband John of the home, children Rachel (Jeremy) Wehkamp of Garden City, and Andrew (Traci) Zoschke of Garden City, grandchildren Lukas, Felicity, William, Aletheia, Declan, Johnathan, Abigail, Elizabeth, Aaron, and Atalie. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Marie Roehl, one son Matthew Zoschke, and two sisters Virginia Dmytryshyn and Ruth Brophy.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday August 22, 2025 at Grace Bible Church in Garden City, Kansas with Pastor Andrew Zoschke officiating. The family will hold a private burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Junction City, Kansas at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to Grace Bible Church or ABC Pregnancy Center both in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
