Józef Gut
Józef Gut, age 70, of Rolling Meadows, Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, surrounded by his wife and daughters.
Józef was born in Tarnów, Poland on November 29, 1955, to his adored parents, Józefa and Stanislaw. He grew up with four sisters, who were his lifelong best friends. He immigrated to Chicago in October 1981 in pursuit of the American dream. In 1986, he married Malgorzata, and together, they built a beautiful life rooted in faith and family. They raised three daughters, and Józef's greatest joy and proudest role was being their dad. Over time, he was thrilled to welcome his sons-in-law into the family, and was even more thrilled to welcome grandchildren into the family. He retired from his long career as a machinist in 2022. In retirement, he devoted his time to his family, caring for his grandchildren, and working in his home and garden. These last few years were some of the happiest of his life.
Józef was a devoted family man, a hardworking provider, and someone who found joy in life's everyday moments. He lived with purpose, discipline, and a deep sense of responsibility to those he loved. He was kind, loyal, and generous. Above all, Józef will be remembered as a man who gave more than he ever asked for and who made life better for everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Józef was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Stanislawa. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 40 years, Malgorzata; his daughters, Anita, Natalia, and Nicole; his sons-in-law, Joe, Adam, and David; his grandchildren, Evan, Noah, Evelyn, Max, and Charlie (and Charlie's baby brother, who is expected to make his arrival this summer); his sisters, Pelagia, Zofia, and Irena; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
He will be deeply missed.
Spoczywaj w pokoju wiecznym, kochany Józiu, Tato, i Dziadziu. Kochamy Cie bardzo.
