Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Mr. J.P. Walden, Jr., age 91, of Alford Road in Bartow, who died Sunday evening December 28, 2025.
Services will be held 2:00 Friday, January 2, 2026, in the Bartow Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Bartow City Cemetery with Thom Henson, David Beranek, Hank Josey, Daniel McCall, Trooper Williams, Ethan McCall, and Noah McCall serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends in the church one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Walden was born on February 28, 1934, in Bartow, a son of the late Joe P. Walden and Susie Cooper Walden. He had served in the National Guard from 1952 until 1968 for 16 years. He retired from Thermo King as a supervisor after 40 years of service. He was a long-time member of Bartow Baptist Church. He loved to fish, hunt, and be outdoors but his greatest pastime was spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, wife Eugenia Walden, two daughters, Tonya Annett Walden and Toni Lyn Walden, Sister, Gwynelle Walden Ledge, brother Verlin Tarver Walden and is survived by 2 sons Tommy & Lisa Walden, Tracy & Robbie Walden, stepdaughters, Regina & Mel Henson, Wanda & Wes Gordy, Brenda & Hollan Josey, Libby Alford, and Terri Howell, sister, June Henson, grandchildren, Ashley (Michael) Thacker, Leslie (Jeff) Cockrell, Randi (Danny) Beckworth, Thom Henson, Trina (David) Beranek, Tara (Jimmy) Polan, Hank Josey, April (Daniel) McCall, Trooper Williams, great-grandchildren, Mason Thacker, Keegin Thacker, Kennedy Thacker, Gannon Cockrell, Hudson Cockrell, Waylan Cockrell, Emilie Wilcher, Taylor Polan, Michael & Lillie Henson, Hannah & Ben Beranek, Olivia Josey, Ethan, Danielle, Noah McCall, and Laliah Unruh, several nieces, nephews, and many beloved friends.
