Lawrence V. Cavanaugh Jr. “JR”, 42, of Logansport, passed away, after a long battle with obesity hypoventilation syndrome on Friday, June 30, 2023, at Howard Community Hospital in Kokomo.
Born on October 1, 1980, in Logansport, JR is the son of Lawrence V. Cavanaugh Sr. and Shaunita (Altice) Cavanaugh. JR was a 1999 graduate of Logansport High School. During his time at LHS, he thrived in his manager role for many Berry teams.
JR loved sports, especially college athletics. He enjoyed Purdue basketball, Oklahoma football and the Chicago Cubs. JR was a member of Main Street United Methodist and enjoyed working in the sound booth. He was a big family guy, JR loved attending events and spending time with his nieces and great nephew.
Surviving JR, along with his parents, Lawrence Sr. and Shaunita, is a sister, Janelle K. (Rick) Denny of Squaw Lake, MN; two nieces, Katrina M. Neuendorf of Logansport; Malorie A. Neuendorf of Indianapolis; great nephew, Kolby M. Beebout; maternal grandmother, Myra R. Altice of Logansport.
A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Main Street United Methodist Church in Logansport with Pastor Doug Thomas officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date, in the St. Johns cemetery.
Visitation time will be held from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, also in Main Street UM Church.
Memorials may be made to the Main Street United Methodist Church.
